Bison Quest is available to only one private group at a time

We are not a "dude ranch" where you spend your entire vacation and meals with dozens of other people. This is your time and your sanctuary.

Our programs are all-inclusive, from the 3-night weekend package to the 1-week (or longer) vacation package. We offer your group at least one activity daily if you wish, but if you’d rather just sit back on your cabin porch surrounded by the bison herd - well, you can do that too!

Sit back and enjoy healthy local delights or try your hand at campfire cooking with our outdoor Dutch oven cooking class.

Relaxing and Rejuvenating Spa Treatments

Breathe in pure mountain air and the smell of wildflowers during your indulgent spa treatments. A massage after your horseback ride... what bliss! A medicinal plant foot soak and pedicure after your hike and picnic... you will never feel more pampered. Explore an Old West ghost town, then soak the dust away in mineral-laden, pure geothermal waters while waiting for another massage. Roughing it in Montana never felt so good.

For our days on the Reserve, we try to offer 1 different natural spa treatment daily. While we do our best to accommodate your wishes, the final choice and number of spa treatments is ours.

Authentic Native American Tipis

A tipi combines relaxation, inspiration and tranquility of living deep in the natural environment. Nothing can match the pleasure of relaxing in a Lakota Sioux tipi, surrounded by a powerful bison herd, in the magnificent Montana wilderness.

Mountain Horseback Ride

Your adventure would not be complete without saddling up in Big Sky Country. Riding high up into the mountains, we meander through meadows and under the forest canopy. When everyone is ready to get off and stretch out those saddle kinks, we gather around a bountiful picnic lunch that has come along for the ride.

"Bison Quest" Interaction Experience

This unique program will be your travel memory of a lifetime. Our guests have the opportunity to meet the Wild Echo bison herd "up close and personal". Learn about the natural history of this awe-inspiring animal and participate in a bison behavioral study with our wildlife biologists.

Airport or Hotel Transfers and All Program Transportation

A cheerful basket of fresh Montana snacks and cold drinks will be waiting for you when you are picked up at the airport. From the moment you arrive until your visit is over we will take care of the driving and let you enjoy the breathtaking scenery. We provide all transportation during your stay, including pick up and return to Helena or Bozeman airports or hotels. Other Montana cities can be arranged.

White Water Rafting or Canoe Trip

Guests who would like to try their hand on one of Montana's famous rivers are invited to participate in an adrenalin pumping white water raft experience. For those who would rather have a calmer experience, there is a serene and scenic canoe float available.

Telescope Stargazing from 6,200ft Raven's Roost Overlook

When you stargaze in the quiet of your mountain sanctuary the brightest lights you will see are in the sky!

 

Hike and Mountain Picnic

Climb a mountain, or take a simple hike - it's all up to you. Our biologists are ready for any of it! One of our horses will come along to help carry supplies and your delicious picnic lunch. A medicinal plant foot soak and pedicure wait for you when you return.

 

Hot Springs Spa and Ghost Town Trip

Visit the old West, soak in mineral-laden hot springs, have a relaxing massage and see a big slice of some of the most scenic and awe inspiring country in the world. You will know why they call Montana "Big Sky Country".

Nightly Campfire Cookouts

Campfires, s'mores, nature presentations, or just a time to hang out with your friends. Nothing beats sitting around a campfire next to your tipi, surrounded by a bison herd, serenaded by the coyotes and lulled by the gentle grunts of the bison talking to their calves.

 

Gates of the Mountains Cruise

Follow in the exact footsteps of Lewis and Clark on an exciting portion of that marvelous journey.

Journaling, Wildflower Pressing, Medicinal Plant and Medicine Bag Classes

Guests will learn how to identify and press flowers for your own collection, select medicinal plants for your spa treatments, and make your own "medicine for the soul".

Sweat Lodge

The sweat lodge ceremony is meant "for all the human beings, Natives and not, and it's of great help in every important moment of life" (Black Elk). The Sweat Lodge helps people to return to their origins, to let go of what has become a burden and to challenge life, and in doing so finding new strength and energy to move towards the future. Indeed, a strong, intimate and deeply touching adventure.

Professional Photographs Of Bison Quest

Take home once-in-a-lifetime photographs of your Bison Interaction Experience... or no one may believe you! Four 8x10 photos per guest are included. If you would like a photographer on other days of your Bison Quest Adventure, we can set that up for you.

Personal Journal

A leather journal, beautifully wrapped with tissue and flowers will be waiting for you when you are picked up at the airport. More than a vacation, we want this to be a life changing experience for you.

Yellowstone National Park

Since we are fairly close to Yellowstone National Park, we can also organize an overnight stay in that enchanting wonderland.
