Accommodations On The Reserve

Authentic Log Cabins

The Log Cabins

Once we arrive at the ranch, you'll have time to unpack and settle into your homey log cabin after our rather bumpy and dusty ride. The main floor has one king size or 2 twin beds and a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. The half loft upstairs also has 1 or 2 beds depending on your needs. We provide an "old west" feel combined with the luxuriousness of 400+ count fine bed linens, cozy comforters, propane "fireplace", and buffalo robes.

The Bison Quest Camp

Our Bison Quest camp is nestled into an aspen grove and surrounded by mountains in the heart of the Reserve for complete privacy. The two authentic log cabins, tipis, and outfitter cook tent, complete with dining facilities and kitchen, are reminiscent of the Old West camps of the 1800's.

Cabin and Tipis

What our guests say:

Hi Pam and Craig,

I am a little late in expressing to you how much we enjoyed our adventure! It was an absolute privilege to spend these days in your company, in complete isolation, to really disconnect from the chaos of the world we live. And all in this country, which I did not think was possible anymore! It was like no other and has forever changed the way we vacation. Your knowledgeable companionship, great meals, horseback riding and especially the accommodations in the center of the roaming deer and bison will never be forgotten.

Thanks again for the wonderful western hospitality!

See you next year,

Terry and Krylian S, Florida, USA

You will find the camp surrounded by a fence, since here at Wild Echo, we fence the guests in and the wildlife out! We, your hosts, also live in camp so that we are always accessible.

Other types of "bath" accommodations include a sweat lodge (the ancient answer to the sauna) and a wood fired hot "tub" near our bubbling artesian spring. Our main emphasis here at the Wild Echo Bison Reserve, is to give guests the natural and exciting feel of a wilderness adventure vacation with just a little pampering thrown in.

Native American Tipis

We also have Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne tipis available as a place to relax, read, or sit around a campfire. And, of course, the tipis are available if anyone would like to make them the main accommodation (spending a night in a tipi is popular with the young folks).

Tipis at Bisonquest

Our tipis combine the relaxation, inspiration and tranquility of living deep in the natural environment while being immersed in the history of the native people who first used it. For a true back to nature experience, nothing can match the pleasure of relaxing in a tipi surrounded by a powerful bison herd, in the magnificent Montana wilderness.

Historic Sioux tipi

Sioux - Ft. Yates 1890

To the Native American of the Plains, the tipi was eminently practical. It was warm in the winter, cool in the summer, portable, strong and easy to set up. The tall slender cones filled with diffuse light, providing a place for the spirit to soar. The circular plan mirrored nature... the seasons, the earth, the sky and life itself. We use the Sioux spelling for tipi.
